Resolved Question: How do I make my short, layered hair wavy?
I have short, layered hair. It's about shoulder length. But I'm going for a new look and I always wear my hair the same way. I really like old hairstyles from the 1920s to the 50s. But I'm looking for a more modern version of them. So if anyone has some tips or pictures let me know. My hair is very damaged so when I use crimpers or anything that has heat on my hair, it just makes it frizzy mess.
Resolved Question: Cutting a wig into a new hairstyle?
I have a short, 1920s bob style wig, and I was wondering if it was fairly easy, or even possible, to cut it into a new style; specifically the style that Alice Cullen's hair is in Twilight. Here's my wig: http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/15/l_417e380c4db0413fa5b52c0b10abebd3.jpg And here is Alice's style: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b318/MistressCassandra/Twilight/Alicestandschool.jpg?t=1244172524

My hair is about 2 1/2 inches (6.25cm) past my shoulders and the underneath is curly whereas the top is dead straight. I am in the school production, Singin' in the Rain which is set in 1927. Problem is I have no idea how to fix some of the wacky styles for the girls with longer hair. Resolved Question: I'm a LIBRA woman. Libra women, can you tell me about yourself, personally?.?
Anyone can do a search on characteristics of Libra women. However, I want to hear personal characteristics of themselves from Libra women. It is true, some characteristics you read from websites on the net are characteristics that you would have described about yourself on your own without ever had read any info about libra women. So, it would not be any type of coincidence... I'll begin with myself. I do NOT like to be involved in drama. I avoid it at all costs. I'm rather an observer of drama. I don't like having enemies. When I do, I don't pay attention to them and continue focusing on ME and my goals. If I did pay attention to enemies, that would take away my energy that I should be putting into myself and goals. I do not settle for the least; I wait for the best. I'm not in love but desire to be. I am looking for my soulmate with my eyes wide open. I have high hopes and faith in finding him. I do love classic fashion. I am into vintage style fashion and interior decorating. My hairstyle naturally looks like it is from the 1920s or 1930s. My figure looks like a woman. I have a small waist and naturally big hips(my bones). I would consider myself attractive and many guys do not approach me because of it. I usually have to approach men first. When it comes to me pursuing a guy, I go out of my way and I make it clear to him that I want him and only him....There is probably more I can say, but just for fun, I want to hear other Libra women talk!
Resolved Question: Origin of the term "Eton haircut"?
It's a hairstyle worn by women associated with the "flapper movement" of the 1920s. Eton is a town in england, but I don't know whether the hairstyle is related. I know the flapper movement started in England, but other than that, I have no clue about the origin of this term.

Voting Question: Can someone help me with a question about a peculiar 1900s-1920s hairstyle?
Any historians on Yahoo Answers tonight? If you feel like posting an answer like "Padme Puffs" again I bet you know your Star Wars History and you think you're hilarious, but in this case I'm not in search of comedy. Alright kids? Does anyone know the name/more info about an early 1900s - circa 1918- hairstyle where the hair was worn folded up into two little pom poms on either side of a girl's face. I thought I heard once they were called "mouse ears" Does anyone know of a website with pictures of Edwardian hairstyles? Any books that might help me? thanks so much for the links! The reason I know the hairstyle is from 1918 is well..because it's a photo of a high school girl in 1918. It does look like it may have been inspired by the Jane Eyre look, but not parted in the middle. It's a sweeping side bang and two little poofs at either side of the face, and in casual pics of this girl and her classmates, it looks alot like quirky modern hairstyles that I've seen Alyssa Milano wear on 'Charmed'

Resolved Question: I'm going to a really big 1920's themed party tomorrow, and I need some advice. Most of the girls in the 1920s
I'm going to a really big 1920's themed party tomorrow, and I need some advice. Most of the girls in the 1920s cut their hair short, in a bob and I can't seem to find any alternative hairstyles. I have long blonde hair, and I can't think of any hairstyle that would look the part. I would kind of prefer my hair to be up, because the back of my dress has a buttoned up lace collar and you would be able to see it if my hair was up...but wearing it down is definitely a possibility too! My dress is a shade of gray, and is pretty simple looking. It has a lace top near the chest-area and the lace goes up into a collar that goes a few inches up my neck. I'm going to wear pearls, a silver headband (maybe with a feather), pantyhose and high heels. But I'm not sure if it seems 1920's-ish enough. Any suggestions?

Resolved Question: Can you help me with Retro Hairstyles and Hair Rats?
I have taken up swing dancing (lindy hop) this past year and am ready to hit the social scene. The problem is, I'm hopeless with my hair and need help with some good retro hairstyles (1920s to 1950s) that will stay put despite vigorous dancing. Everyone tends to dress up for the social scene. Please help with pics, step by step instructions and anything else you can think of. Thanks :)
Resolved Question: emo's new short hair cut and new fashions??
Bobs and short haircuts for women made their debut in the 1920s and were greeted with raised eyebrows and allegations of scandal. Since then, bobs and short haircuts for women have become permanent fashion fixtures and are here to stay. Bobs and short haircuts can be quite easy to manage and can look appropriate for any occasion, depending on how they are shaped and styled. The classic bob was a blunt cut that made the hair the same length as the ears all around (except the front, of course) with a hint of curl formed by old-fashioned curlers. Today, there are as many bobs and short haircuts as there are types of women who wear them, and the famous bob has evolved to fit almost every fashion requirement. Styling bobs and short haircuts can be quite simple, since there is less hair to work with. However, trying an unfamiliar style also has its challenges, and sometimes patience and trial and error are required before creating the perfect look. ? For a classic, blunt bob, make the hair straight all around, and ask the stylist for bangs. Using gel, comb your wet hair straight as you blow dry. Spray it well. ? For a Pageboy bob: Use a wide-barrelled curler and curl the back of your hair and bangs under. Wait for the curls to cool, and brush gently, encouraging the large curls, with a large, round brush. Spray well. ? For a flip bob: If you like the mostly straight bob with a little flip in or out at end, use a flat iron to make most of your hair straight, and make your hair flip in or flip out at the ends by twisting inch wide sections around the flat iron. ? Kinky bob: If you do not have naturally curly hair, create curls using wacky curlers or by using a narrow-barrelled curling iron. Leave the curlers in your hair for at least a half and hour and blow your hair dry, or, using a curler, wind your hair around the iron in one-inch wide sections. Use a pick to arrange your curls and spray well. ? Layered Bob: If your hair is layered, and you would like a soft, natural looking bob, rinse out your conditioner well and work mousse through your wet hair. Dry well, using your fingers to style your hair and twist some strands of hair for extra wave. ? Super glossy bob: This look is great for formal events. Use shampoo and conditioner specially designed to bring out the sheen in your hair. Sculpt wet hair with gel and brush straight. Blow dry on a low setting, and finish with a hair spray that will make your hair very shiny. ? Super short bob: Paris Hilton sported this bob shortly before getting her hair sheared. This bob requires very little maintenance. The hair should be cropped close to the face. Use a little mousse to give the hair a bit of volume. You needn't worry about making the bob very curly or very straight, since this is a natural looking hairdo. Simply use mousse, coax your hair into the desired style with a brush as you blow it dry. ? Emo bob: Although emo's claim to ignore fashion, the bob has hit even the emo crowd. Cut your hair into a blunt cut with scissors. Don't worry if the ends are not exactly even. Dye your hair black and add red or frosted highlights if you wish. Bobs and short haircuts can create a very "sweet" look. A short haircut that has as much sass and elegance as a bob is the "pixie" look. This hairstyle is great if you have an oval face and want soft bangs that emphasize your eyes. The back is cut in the shape of a wedge, and more hair is left at the top. The bangs can be curled under or combed straight. A little curl is quite feminine and brings out the eyes.
Resolved Question: How to go about getting a blonde wavy bob?
I've been thinking of getting a new hairstyle for awhile now. I want my hair short, and I really like the 1920s hair bob style, with a wave, and blonde, just like Renee in Chicago. http://www.flickr.com/photos/contusion/436753193/ http://stat.correioweb.com.br/arquivos/divirta/avulsas/renee_chicago1.jpg http://www.jamesweggreview.org/images/filmdvdvideo/chicago2.jpg I unfortunatly don't have a regular hair stylist or anything and I have soft brown hair medium length, kinda like in my avatar, and I guess before I start asking random hair stylists, if i should get it all done, would i need a perm to get my hair waved like that? I'm not sure! It's kind of a big decision for me! Bleh! :)
Resolved Question: Can a perm do this???
I really want a 1920's fingerwave hairstyle but I am not coordinated to do it on my own hair. I there a perm or something that couls get my hair to look like this??? http://www.hairarchives.com/private/1920s.htm It's the very top picture. Please Help!! Thanks.

My hair is pretty long, it goes about halfway down my back. I have to dress up for a jazz party for school in a couple of weeks, and I already have a dress and all, but I have no idea how to do my hair. I know that girls in the 20s usually bobbed their hair, but my hair is too long for that. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
