Layered Hair

Layered hair was a feature of the bobbed hairstyles that proliferated during the 20’s. Although the early bobs were very straight and simple they soon progressed to a more feminine look thanks to layering and the addition of curls and waves.
Properly cutting hair in layers makes it easier to wave and helps it retain the wave longer. Lighter curling fluids can be used than would otherwise be required, it takes less time to dry the hair, and it is much easier for a woman to brush and set her own hair following waving.
NOTE: This is a subset of our popular Bobbed Hairstyles book so if you already own “Haircutting and Styling Techniques of the 1920’s and 1930’s” then “Layered Hair” is contained within it.
